Grinder is powered by a brushless motor that runs cooler and more efficiently for long duration and also optimizes battery energy use for up to 50%. Automatic Speed Change™ technology offers optimum performance by automatically adjusting speed and torque during operation. The electronic controller offers soft start that suppresses start-up reaction for smooth start-ups and longer gear life. Anti-restart protection is engineered to avoid motor start up in the on-power switch position after a power disruption. The Makita’s star protection computer control protects battery by avoiding over-heating and over-loading. The 3-stage LED gauge alerts about the battery charge level. Wire mesh intake covers are designed to avoid debris from entering motor. Electric brake stops the wheel in 2 seconds or less on release of the paddle switch. Spiral bevel gears offer smoother rotations and also ensure efficient energy transfer. It is perfect for grinding, cutting and sanding wide range of materials including tile, concrete, pipe, conduit and more. AFT® technology turns the motor off if rotation of the wheel is suddenly forced to stop.
