Miter saw has Makita built electronically controlled BL™ brushless motor to deliver 4400 RPM for rapid and smooth cutting operation. Direct drive motor increases cutting efficiency with minimal maintenance. The Automatic Speed Change™ technology aids to adjust cutting speed as well as torque during cutting. Soft start effectively suppresses start-up reaction for smooth start-ups and increased gear life. The X2 LXT® technology efficiently delivers up to 175 cuts per charge in 2×12 SPF lumber using two 5.0 Amp-hour batteries. Miter saw features unique 2-steel rail sliding system to facilitate single slide-glide operation, where as the reduced saw footprint allows operation flush against a wall. Saw is integrated with built-in laser, which clearly indicates line-of-cut whether or not blade is turning. The 3-stage LED gauges on the tool aids to indicate battery charge levels for user convenience. Electric brake of tool aids in increasing productivity with added convenience. The Star Protection Computer Controls™ technology allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and monitor conditions while in use to safeguard against overloading, over-discharging and overheating.
